Reflections

After this trip to Chinatown, I have learnt more about the chinese culture and tradition. I am more familiar on the history of chinatown. My group and I have worked together to solve problems that we faced. I developed a closer relationship with my group members. We gathered more information about Chinatown in the past and how globalisatown has changed chinatown to be how it is like today.

This Chinatown trip has made me learn many new things, like how chinatown is in the past and present, the chinese heritage and things they sold there. We had faced many problems but we, as a group managed to overcome it, for examples, we are not in the same small groups, therefore it will be harder in communication, but, we managed to overcome it by each of us knowing what we needed to do. We also have problems finding what every shop sells and had problem copying it down. Globalisation has also changed Chinatown through the years.

The trip to Chinatown was very enriching. We learned about how to compare the past and present of Chinatown and discovered how globalisation has made Chinatown what it has become today. We were fortunate enough that some of us were in the same group but we were still split into separate groups. We had a problem communicating with each other during the trip because of how fast we were moving from one station to the other. However, we knew what were our roles during the trip and managed to piece everything together afterwards. The hardest station to complete was where we had to record the shop's names and products as not many shops were open at that time of day and there was a limited range of country of origins (mostly from China and Malaysia).

This trip to Chinatown has taught me more about Chinese culture. We learnt more about Chinatown's past and how globalization had changed Chinatown to what it is like today. We faced problems like when we were recording the names and products of the shops, but as a group we managed to overcome them. Even though we were not in the same groups during the learning journey, we knew what we needed to do and thus, managed to complete the project.
